New England Sour

The New England Sour is a refined cocktail that highlights JARDII Apple brandy in a sour-style drink. It’s similar in spirit to the classic Whiskey Sour but uses apple brandy as the base spirit, which adds a distinctive apple flavor. This cocktail combines the brandy’s fruity depth with the tartness of lemon juice and the sweetness of simple syrup, creating a balanced and refreshing drink.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz JARDII Apple Brandy 
  • 3/4 oz Fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz Simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 Egg white (optional, for a frothy texture)
  • Ice
  • Apple slice or lemon twist (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare Ingredients: If using an egg white, perform a dry shake (shake without ice) first to emulsify the egg white and create a frothy texture.
  • Combine Ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, add the apple brandy, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white (if using).
  • Shake: If using egg white, do a dry shake first, then add ice and shake again until well-chilled. If not using egg white, simply shake it with ice.
  • Strain: Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass or an old-fashioned glass filled with ice, depending on your preference.
  • Garnish: Garnish with a slice of apple or a lemon twist.

Flavor Profile

JARDII Apple Brandy: Provides a smooth, fruity base with notes of apple and a subtle warmth.

Lemon Juice: Adds brightness and acidity, balancing the sweetness and enhancing the overall freshness of the cocktail.

Simple Syrup: Contributes sweetness to counteract the tartness of the lemon juice.
